Sarenth’s Spiritual Hygiene Rune Ritual

Note: Galdr is a word whose meaning is derived from ‘to croak’ and ‘sing’. My galdr with the Runes follows this understanding, in that you can do long, breathy, beautiful notes or low, croaking notes like a raven and have incredible, different effects.

To start, make three deep breaths.

The opening prayer:

“Hail Rúnatýr! Hail Rúnevættir! Thank You for preparing me/us for the day/ritual/work ahead!”

Ansuz, “Ahn sooz”

“Hail Ansuz! Thank You for cleansing me within and without!

Gebo “Gay bo”

“Hail Gebo! Thank You for grounding and centering me/us!”

Kenaz “Kay nahz”

“Hail Kenaz! Thank You for cleansing and empowering my/our shields/wards!”

Nauðiz “Now theez”, th as in ‘weather’, not ‘there’

“Hail Nauðiz! Thank You for burning away the poisons that come my/our way, and for those that cannot be burnt away, thank You for helping us to digest the poisons that come my/our way!”

Fehu “Fay hoo”

“Hail Fehu! Thank You for bringing me/us vitality, virility, vigor, and energy; money and wealth, power and strength; good megin, good hamingja, and good Gebo, and the wisdom and ability to use all these things wisely and well!”

To finish, make three deep breaths.

If you want, repeat the prayer at the beginning.

“Hail Rúnatýr! Hail Rúnevættir! Thank You for preparing me/us for the day/ritual/work ahead!”

Make offerings when you are next able.
