Sigyn Project: Day 27

February 28, 2013 Leave a comment

I am a Seeker

a month of writing to You

and I still do not know You

Your Presence is calm

Your Voice is gentle most times

Yet, I still do not know You

I do not know You as a Mother

not truly, though I can feel Your sadness

for Sons torn by rage and pain

I do not know You as a Wife

not truly, though I have seen Your cave

and toiling, emptying the great bowl

I do not know You as a Goddess

not truly, though I hail Your Name

and praise Your gifts

How could I know You?

I praise Your Name as true as any of the Gods I worship

How could I know You?

I pour out offerings and gift to You, sure as any of the Gods I hail

How could I know You?

I have held Your bowl in offering, and had but a taste of Your Work and pain

How could I know You?

There is so much more than story or word or song or dance or life could tell

How could I know You?

I pray, I offer, I sing, I dance, I play, I do

I do know You

If any mortal can know a Goddess

Who has blessed their life

Who has sat, waiting, for the mortal to comprehend

Who has held the ones I love as they weep

Who has stood by me when I thought I had few friends

Who spoke for me

Who touches my hands

Who speaks in my ear

Who hears

Who despite all, remains

Odin Project: Day 29

Easy found is war | easier to start

a lose spark which burns the home;

The burnt husk | shelters no one

save the dead dreams in ashes

Hard won is frith | harder still to make

with bitterest of foes,

Yet peace in anger | saves many a life

from strife and long-held rage

The Salve is Action

I look to the news and my heart breaks

Another slaughter, another tragedy

Everyday news

I look to the websites and my heart breaks

Another mountain strip-mined, another forest cut

Everyday news

I look to the feeds and my heart breaks

Another spill, another tragedy, another wrong

Another

Another

Another

My heart is full of sadness, and I look to my Gods

I ask Them for comfort, and the One Eye looks to me

What hope would I give you?  That, you must make.

Take that burn, that grief.

Act.

Do whatever is in you to do.

Words alone will not console, words alone will not heal this.

Act.

Do until you can do no more.

Speak where you can speak, until you have no more words.

Above all:

Act.

Loki Project Day 22

The Worlds quake,

Bound One

Fearing Your rage

Your madness

Jörð feels You deep within Her

Suffering under a serpent

Do You make Her shake

With the pain of its burn

Or does She shake in sorrow

for You?

Loki Project Day 10

A pyre burns in a far-off place

I have no tears to shed

My Jotun-children are fettered

And my Asa-children dead

My wife grieves here by my side

In chill of the gloomy cave

The last gift drips down on my face, the one that Skadi gave

It burns within the wooden bowl

The venom dark and grim

For eternities the dripping scolds

Upon my flaming skin

Each time my love takes the bowl

To throw it all outside

My pain is said to shake Midgard whole

Until the time is right

I will cast aside my bonds broken in my rage

For all the death and suffering

Upon my children made

Loki Project: Day 1, Thanks to Loki

July 1, 2012 2 comments

This is my first post in the Loki Project, started by Galina Krasskova.

I cannot know Your pain

Your young ones ripped

From Your loving arms

I cannot know Your rage

The burning pit

That grew from murder

I cannot know Your despair

The rope of Your Son

Imprisoning You in agony

I am not You

For that, I am thankful

I do not truly know Your pain

For that, I am thankful

I do not truly know Your rage

For that, I am thankful

I do not truly know Your despair

For that, I am thankful

For all Your suffering

I thank You

For all Your pain

I thank You

For all Your rage

I thank You

For all Your despair

I thank You

For the depths that You have been thrown

I thank You

From the depths that You have clawed

I thank You

You have shown the way through pain

You have shown the way through rage

You have shown the way through despair

You have shown the way from the riven path

You have shown the way from truth’s road

I thank You because it is all I can offer

To Your Pain

To Your Rage

To Your Despair

To Your Paths

I thank You because all other words, even these

Seem so small

So very small

To the ignominy heaped upon You

To the viciousness spat at You

To the ignorance of Your suffering

Hail Loki Laufeyson

Hail to the Flamehair and Indomitable Fire

Hail to You Who still loves despite

The ravages of loss
