A Prayer to Týr and Forseti

Týr and Forseti, holy Lords of Justice!
Look down on what has happened in this nation
See the tears from mother’s eyes
Hear the screams from open mouths

See injustice heaped on injustice
Borne generation after generation
Indignity heaped upon indignity
Murder on murder

The ears of the authorities are shut -open them!
The eyes of the authorities are shut -open them!
The hands of the authorities are shut -open them!
The hearts of the authorities are shut -open them!

May every injustice be known
May every injustice be reckoned
May every injustice be paid for
May every injustice be set right

Týr, one-handed God Who sacrificed
Recognize the sacrifices
Of body, heart, reputation, and soul
Who risk themselves against wolves

Forseti, Lord of lawspeakers
Foremost of mediators,
Let justice be served in letter and life
Protection and power for the people

Holy Gods hear this prayer
Be swift and bless the nation
That justice is restored
That right relationship is reborn

Hail to the Dead

Hail to the Dead who walk under my feet

To fungus and plant, animal and insect

Hail to the Dead who walk with me

To Elements and Gods, Disir and Väter

Hail to the Dead who walk over my head

To stars and skies, Þjazi’s Eyes watching

Hail to the Dead who gird the Worlds

To Ymir’s corpse, and Helheim’s hosts

Hail to the Dead all around

From highest ground to deepest grave

From burial mound and mountain high

From ash and bone, blood and soul

Hail to the Holy Dead

Odin Project: Day 16

The fool ignores | the lessons of Urð,

spiting wisdom for pride;

No words  can reach | whose ears are shut,

nor whose eyes refuse to see

The fool ignores | the lessons of Verðandi,

spiting action for complacence;

No way can be made | by those who stall,

nor whose hands refuse to work

The fool ignores | the lessons of Skuld,

spiting planning for folly;

No path can be lain | by those who are vacant,

nor whose minds refuse to inquire

Cry to the Ancestors

Oh Ancestors, grant me a tongue that I might speak your words!

Oh Ancestors, grant me hands that I might build up your foundations!

Oh Ancestors, grant me feet that I may stand tall in your ways!

Oh Ancestors, grant me eyes that I may see your path!

Oh Ancestors, grant me words that I may speak to your children!

Oh Ancestors, grant me a voice that I may sing your songs!

Oh Ancestors, grant me a blessing that my soul be ready!

Oh Ancestors, grant me ways that I might reach you!

Oh Ancestors, grant me your Presence that I may know you!

Oh Ancestors!

Ancestors!

Ancestors!

Bless this life you have given me!

Bless this time in which I walk!

Bless this form in which I live!

Blessings to you, Ancestors!

Ancestors!

Ancestors!

Ancestors!
